American Beauty Sapphire Series Blu-ray Announced
Confirming earlier retailer reports (see blu-ray.com, June 19), Paramount Home Entertainment has announced American Beauty for Blu-ray release on September 21, as part of the Sapphire Series. This Dreamworks SKG production, which was the directorial debut for Sam Mendes, went on to win five Oscars in 2000 (Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Cinematography, Best Original Screenplay, Best Director and Best Picture).
Special features include:
Commentary with director Sam Mendes and screenwriter Alan Ball

Storyboard presentation with Sam Mendes and director of photography Conrad L. Hall
