Ewoks: La serie animada R1

With the original Star Wars trilogy heading to DVD, it's no surprise that there would be some Star Wars related announcements at the San Diego Comic-Con this weekend.

In a 2 hour presentation, Steve Sansweet, Head of Fan Relations for Lucasfilm, announced that 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment would bring the animated Ewoks to DVD later this year. The series ran for 2 seasons, for a total of 35 episodes. It's not known if the show would be packaged as one set, or sold as seasons.

We'll have more information when it becomes available.

Fox have also issued some early details of the live-action Ewok Adventures Caravan of Courage and The Battle for Endor. Although the particulars are unclear at present, we can tell you that the discs will retail for around the $14.98 mark when they are released on the 23rd of November this year. Fox Home Entertainment has released an official date for Star Wars Animated Adventures: Droids and Star Wars Animated Adventures: Ewoks. Both of these animated titles will be available to own from the 23rd November this year, and should set you back somewhere in the region of $14.98 apiece. I'm afraid we don't have any details of extra material at this stage, but we'll bring you the full rundown on the disc specs shortly, along with the official artwork for both discs.
